Phrasal Verbs | GET


You will get past having to learn phrasal verbs in an ESL course😆.



In the single-panel comic, the woman is wondering how she can (get over) recover from her low test score
To get past something, in this case,  means you're able to pass by an obstacle. These are phrasal verbs starting  with "get".


Study the infographics below. We'll use these phrasal verbs for the following exercises (enlarge by right-clicking on the picture). Remember that context will often help you get the meaning of phrasal verbs.





Exercise 1

Complete the sentences with a phrasal verb from the infographics.



President Trump just doesn't ___ _____ ____ reporters. 



Oh my GOD! Zoē! ___ _____ from the Komodo dragon!! Now!



We don't make much money at our student jobs, but we're _______  ____ because we cook our own dinners. So, we save money.

Exercise 2

Choose the best/correct phrasal verb to fill the blanks. There are phrasal verbs that aren't in the infographics. You can look these up or use the pictures to give you clues. Remember that many phrasal verbs are idiomatic.
